LaBlast Splash is the aqua/pool version of LaBlast fitness (land), based on Ballroom dancing partner-free, including all components of physical fitness. Getting certified in this format gives you the ability to teach two formats at the same location where there is a group-X room and a pool. LaBlast is one of only a few companies worldwide who offer both land and pool formats. Take advantage of this and get certified now. LaBlast Chair fitness is the newest format offered and is created to supply a demand for fitness while sitting down. While LaBlast believes fitness should be for all ages an dabilities, the LaBlast Chair Fitness certification will also include standing fitness by using the chair as support. Even using the chair as prop or weight training will be included. The LaBlast Chair Fitness format can be integrated within LaBlast Fitness classes or can be taught as stand alone classes. The LIFCON2022 welcome reception will be 90 minutes long and will include a full LaBlast Line Dancing class. For the first time ever, the Master Trainers will do a fashion show to introduce the new LaBlast merchandise.

This LaBlast Fitness class is taught by the creator himself, Louis van Amstel, who always includes multiple Master Trainers to lead a dance. This is a very special class as the opener of the convention and will set the stage for the rest of week. Hand weights are provided for use during class.

Join LaBlast Master Trainer Megan Cooperman in this keynote session, reflecting on the past 2-3 years and looking forward to 2023. In 2019, we were reluctantly forced to face and live with the Covid-19 crisis, a collective experience that pushed many of us to evaluate our personal and professional lives. According to the World Economic Forum in 2022, many people are looking for new jobs that prioritize well-being and purpose, flexible work conditions, and work-life balance. How has your purpose and why changed since the pandemic? What stories from your past illustrate your sense of purpose, and what stories do you hope to experience now and in the future?
Megan is a seasoned fitness pro with 25 plus years of experience as an instructor, group fitness manager, fitness manager, and wellness director in the health and fitness industry. She has a master’s degree in counseling and is completing a master’s in industrial organizational psychology. She is certified by the Aerobics & Fitness Association of American (AFAA), American Council on Exercise (ACE), and Aquatics Exercise Association (AEA). Megan’s journey with LaBlast began in 2013 when she took her first LaBlast training with Louis. She helped Louis develop the LaBlast Splash program, and in 2019, Megan traveled to Holland and Belgium with Louis to introduce and train new LaBlast instructors. She is grateful to Louis and LaBlast for all of the opportunities.
This session focuses not only on correct execution of fitness exercises, but more so on how these exercises translate into our movements of daily living. Functional fitness is crucial and so beneficial for anyone that wants to age gracefully and with a full active lifestyle.
This LaBlast Fitness class is taught by Master Trainers Jennifer Venezio and Dusty Solis, our spicy duo. You will love the variety of their music and dance choices that they will have in store for you and believe that you will be challenged. Hand weights are provided for use during class.
Louis van Amstel will dive deeper into the usage of the feet, ankles, and legs while rising on the toes and coming down. The ultimate goal during this session is a better understanding of how balance is greatly increased knowing how to Rise & Fall correctly within each of the dances. Rise & Fall with balance for all!
After a full year of preparation LaBlast Chair Fitness has come to fruition. In this brand new class and LaBlast format you will workout ‘mostly’ sitting on a chair while dancing and working out your entire body. Don’t be surprised if you will be standing as well or use the chair as a fun prop. You will never think the same of chair fitness again. Hand weights are provided for use during class.
While in the pool Louis van Amstel will discuss how to turn properly, effectively, and efficiently. A combination of aqua principles and dance techniques will be used to increase turning ability in the water.

Cueing well is an extremely important part of teaching group fitness and LaBlast. During this session you will learn more in depth how to use the body as a whole, not just to indicate ‘what’ direction and ‘when’ the next movement is, but also what feeling comes with the change of movement pattern. Using the body language to communicate will also offer great opportunities for entertainment and accessibility.
Even though instructors receive new symmetric and asymmetric patterns monthly and even more variations via the monthly webinar, in this session you will be challenged and encouraged to come up with your own variations to build confidence as a LaBlast instructors and see creating pattern-o-graphy as a joyous experience.
Swing & Sway. Swing & Sway the diagonal away is the motto of this class. True swing and sway will be discussed, including their differences. The beauty of Ballroom dancing is the shaping of the body. After this session you will know how to create beautiful diagonal shapes.
This LaBlast Fitness class is taught by Master Trainers Lexi Bulich and Apy Figeroa. This Jin/Jang pairing will take you on a Mind/Body rollercoaster journey not leaving any emotion untouched. Hand weights are provided for use during class.
LaBlast Brand Manager, Emma Mero, helps you define your purpose. Through learning what a “purpose” is, figuring out what your determination is, and an action plan to put your purpose into place!
The benefits of arms above the water will be discussed during this thought provoking session in the pool. When arms are not used to get around in the water the workout is entirely focused on the core. Tips and exercises will be shared and experienced.

This last session of the day is simply unique and right after a high energy LaBlast Splash class in the pool. Cooling down while laying on the beach, doing simple lengthening exercises while listening to soothing music, taking in the beautiful sunset, all to relax the mind, body, and soul.
Saturday | July 16

Within Ballroom Dancing many dances are from different countries, each including their own heritage and body action. Therefore the body action within a few dances from different Ballroom styles will be put under the loop during this session.

The LaBlast Master Trainers are first and foremost wonderful human beings with immense passion for group fitness and LaBlast. Many are business owners, entrepreneurs, or fitness directors at community centers. During this session many tips are offered and advise will be shared on how to improve as an instructor or how to promote yourself better. Our very knowledgeable Master Trainers are here to help YOU and this session is the perfect opportunity to get answers to your questions from the pros.

The gala dinner theme for this year is Roarin’ Soarin’ 20ies which will attract many flapper dresses and zoot suits. During most fitness conventions attendees only wear fitness gear and sweat all day. The Saturday night gala dinner is the golden opportunity to get out the cocktail attire, hair & make up, high heels, and feel like a lady….or gentleman! After a buffet style dinner the dance floor is open for business all night long. There will be breaks in between to share fun awards and announce the LaBlast instructor of the year!
