Bernadette Bell – New Jersey

Bernadette received her Bachelor’s degree from Montclair State University in Health Education. She grew up competing in Scottish dancing since the age of 4 and has traveled all over the US for competitions. Health, fitness, and dance have always been a part of her life, so LaBlast was a natural fit and the missing piece to her puzzle.  She loves the smiles and joy that she sees on her students’ faces when they dance. It is really the biggest gift.  As a Master Trainer, Bernadette looks forward to sharing her love of LaBlast with new instructors and helping them flourish and grow. So why LaBlast? “Because in a world of unpredictability, we can teach a class and reach a person’s physical, mental, and emotional self all in one. It’s beautiful. I’m extremely honored to be a Master Trainer and Instructor for LaBlast®!”

Antonio Butler – Master Trainer (Oregon)

It was during Basic Training (Boot Camp) for the U.S. Army Reserves that Antonio discovered his love of fitness and working out. He is surely the only person in the world to think of the 10-week Basic Training as a “hoot”.  The noticeable change in his body and development of muscles, led Antonio to join a gym, begin lifting weights, and taking group fitness classes.  At the encouragement of his group fitness instructors, he obtained his Primary Group Fitness certification through AFAA.  He quickly gained a reputation and following teaching Step, High/Lo impact, Interval, Bootcamp, and dance fitness.

In October 2017, Antonio attended a LaBlast® Fitness Masterclass taught by Louis Van Amstel, the format creator, in St Petersburg, FL.  After the class, Louis asked Antonio to become a Master Trainer for the format. This opportunity was perfect, given his love of dance and fitness. Antonio is now in the process of becoming the LaBlast® Fitness Master Trainer for the Pacific Northwest.

Outside of the group fitness world, Antonio works as a Training Coordinator for a banking company.  He enjoys listening to music, watching sports (college and pro football, the Olympic Channel, tennis, rugby, and track & field), playing volleyball (indoor and sand), tennis; and one day hopes to learn to play rugby.

Apy Figueroa – Master Trainer (Florida)

Apy has been in the fitness industry since 2012, although her journey started as a competitive swimmer since she was 7 years old, and later a volleyball player. She started as a certified personal trainer with AFAA, but her passion laid in group fitness and dancing. A native of the island of Puerto Rico and a former national synchronized swimmer, she always loved dancing either in the water or on land. She was always intrigued by how celebrities with no dance background came to a show like Dancing with the Stars and, after a couple of weeks, they were dancing like pros. She learned about LaBlast, went to a master class, and instantaneously fell in love with it. She feels it’s the best dance format where you can learn the true skill of dance while blasting calories, and then use it at any dance event.

Even though LaBlast is Apy’s favorite class to teach, she also teaches aqua fitness and Body Pump. Apy holds a bachelor degree in Nutritional Science, therefore consulting and helping people eat and feel their best is also her life’s goal. She is certified by the Aquatic Exercise Association (AEA), Aerobics & Fitness Association of America (AFAA), as well as a Les Mills Body Pump instructor. When her students come to her to share how active and full of life they feel, she can’t help but to celebrate. Whether she is consulting someone on nutrition and lifestyle, mentoring new LaBlast instructors, or teaching 14 classes each week in the St. Pete area in Florida, her energy and passion are what her students love most about her.

Other than loving working with so many people, Apy also loves going on cruises with her husband, hanging out with her 4 daughters, and being with family and friends. She is looking forward to share LaBlast with you so what do you say….Bailamos????

Dawn Loguercio – Master Trainer (New Mexico)

Dawn began dabbling in dance when she was 13, where she started with ballet, jazz, tap and eventually pointe.

While in high school, she was a part of the drill and dance team for 3 years. After high school, Dawn began taking dance classes at the University of New Mexico. It was at that time that Dawn became reacquainted with her former high school drill coach in a Group Fitness at the health club they were both members of.  She suggested that Dawn try teaching Group Fitness, so that Dawn could get her “dance class fix”.

Dawn pursued this idea and became an AFAA certified Group Fitness Instructor in 1992 and has been teaching ever since. Dawn discovered a new passion in health and fitness and in 1998 obtained her AFAA Personal Trainer certification.

Over the course of 20+years in the fitness industry, Dawn has trained personal clients ranging from 7 year old beginner athletes, to high school football teams, to special needs populations in their 80’s.

While Dawn had been teaching all the while, her first love of dance was revived in the form of cardio dance. Since then,  Dawn has taught Group Fitness formats such as: Cardio Boxing, Studio Cycling, Barre, Hi intensity intervals, senior workouts, strength training and toning, core work, hi/lo aerobics and most recently, LaBlast.

For Dawn, LaBlast has been the format that she’s longed to see hit the Group Fitness circuit, and has brought a new spark to her classes.

Dawn currently resides in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, where she’s lived all of her life. She lives with her youngest son, Justin, 21. Her oldest son, Dylan, 21, lives in Arizona with his wife. She has been a Group Fitness Manager for Riverpoint Sports and Wellness  (a Wellbridge club) for 10 years and continues to motivate hundreds of people to live healthier lives each week in her Group Fitness classes, as well as guiding others with more personal attention in Small Group Training classes and with Personal Training.
