Put in the Work

This quote says it all.

There is no magic, there is no “secret”, and there is certainly fast track to success.

If you want to be the greatest, or even good, you have to give it a fair chance.

Sometimes we forget that we have to do more than just wish on a star and hope a fairy godmother will just waltz out of the sky. I mean, I know it sounds amazing, but that doesn’t happen in the real world. And if it does, WHY DON’T I HAVE ONE?!

You’re work ethic is going to be your fairy godmother that will grant you “wishes”.

I’ve met two types of people who ask me weight loss questions. The first being the kind that probably believes in fairy godmothers and want the easy answers. This is the type of person I meet most frequently. They want the “magic pill” or the big secret to weight loss. As I’m sure most of your know, there is NO magic pill or secret to weight loss. If there was a secret, it would be,

“Let it consume your entire life and make sure you are ready to spend time on your goals.”

The second type of person is the type of person I aspire to be, and the person I constantly strive to be. They’ll ask, “How long to you spend in the gym?” or, “How many days a week do you workout?” THAT. That is the type of person that understands that it doesn’t come easy or in a short amount of time.

Put in time, see results.

The awesome thing about this philosophy is that it doesn’t only apply to weight loss.

Say you want to become a Karate master, just like Dwight Shrute.

Find a….karate gym? (I am obviously NOT the karate master here) and get to kicking.

You’re going to have to pick a goal, make a plan, and follow through.

“A goal unwritten is just a wish.” I don’t know who said it, but they were wise. Write down your goals, make a plan, and GET TO WORK.

My personal experience is, I’m VERY bad at holding myself accountable, I’m not going to get into that, but I’m terrible at it. So, I have to have another person hold me to my word. I have found that there are certain people in my circle that won’t hold me accountable. But, through those people, I have found the people in my life that will hold me accountable in the ways I need to be.

Find the people in your life that practice “tough love” or gentle love…whichever works for you. I need to be yelled at for a point to be made. ??‍♀️

I know this blog post is a little shorter but that’s because you need to go write down your goals and start your plan.

K BYEEEEEE. Talk to you next week.
