Introduction

Video Transcript: Welcome to the LaBlast® Fitness On-Online certification. I am Louis van Amstel, the creator of LaBlast® Fitness. Even though LaBlast includes many dances, in this certification you will learn 10 dances: The Disco, Foxtrot, Quickstep, Salsa, Paso Doble, Jive, Lindy Hop, Rumba, Viennese Waltz, and the Merengue. Each dance will include four patterns, making it a total of forty patterns. Once you complete this certification you will have access to many more dances and brand new patterns.

Whether you decide to do the certification all in one day or over a longer period, please take the time to enjoy and absorb each module. 
Before we start an actual class in the next module, I would like to share the LaBlast Format, Formula, and Philosophy.
The FORMAT: LaBlast® Fitness is a dance fitness program based on partner-free Ballroom dancing and all of the dances seen on ‘Dancing with the Stars’ Worldwide. It includes all components of physical fitness, such as: cardio, muscle endurance, weight training, stretching, and interval training. All Artists, genres and eras of music are used. However, during this online certification we use alternative artists.
The FORMULA: LaBlast® Fitness is based on interchangeable patterns and its wide range of variations instead of choreography, which makes learning for students much easier and enjoyable and it cuts your class prep time in half. One movement pattern can be repeated as many times as needed before moving on to the next pattern. The goal is to make learning a new skill: easy, the experience joyous, without sacrificing quality.
The PHILOSOPHY: Within LaBlast®, we Encourage moving the entire body: physically, mentally ,and emotionally at all times. When moving the whole body, you and your students will experience dance and fitness from the inside out. Students are also able to build confidence, strengthen their mental health, and learn to express their emotions through the power of music and dance fitness. The more involved students are, the more benefits they will enjoy on a cognitive, motor, and assertive level.

Last but not least, let me remind you that LaBlast® is 100% dance and 100% fitness. The program includes carefully created music playlists, with a fully integrated fitness plan in disguise, to ensure that students are getting the most benefits out of each workout. It is our mission to teach students the skill of dance, the tools to work out properly, and set them up for success in life all while dancing to their favorite music.
Besides The Format, Formula, and Philosophy, the warm up and cool down are of utmost importance bookending each LaBlast class you teach. Including Warm Up and Cool Down is crucial in order to give members a professional, safe, and enjoyable experience. Warm Up doesn’t only give members time to loosen up the body and get their heart rate up, it is their time to get into the present moment away from the daily grind. Keeping the warm up simple, yet effective, allows for members to emotionally open up. 
A simple,  well constructed Cool Down allows for the heart rate to come down, muscles to be lengthened, and it helps prevent muscle soreness. On an emotional level Cool Down allows for reflection and surrendering into the movement, which is very important for the overall health and well-being.
